SPONSORSHIPS
A new thing for the trial this year was sponsorships. Or as the form emplied, one "adopted a dog for the day". Folks were cheering their dog on and were very excited to be a part of the trial. Pictures were taken with their dogs and lots of hoopala to go along with it. A really fun thing for all involved and folks were already planning on 'adopting' one next year. Great fun for all and thank you!
WEATHER
The first day dawned cold and frosty, but warmed up to be in the blazing 40's. Had a great turnout of spectators and lots of people 'adopting dogs' for the day. The sheep were very doable but only one pen the whole day. It was great running and the set out did a really wonderful job, having added a bit of "real cowboy" entertainment towards the end of the day. Mark saved a run by roping 2 rogue sheep in one loop that were making a getaway, hailed by all to be worth a bonus. A great day.....
The second day was cold to start but warmed up somewhat. The wind blew in the afternoon, but it was really ok, considering snow was forcast. It was a great day with lots of people coming to watch.
More Handler information
Dynamite Marketing provided luxery accomidations for the handlers (compared to most places). Heaters, coffee, chairs and plenty of information. They also provided a $100 award to the over-all winner and bags of dog food to the winners of best pen, best gather and best shed.
Saturday best pen- Dianne Deal & Zorro
best gather- Lavon Calzacorta & Tess
best shed - Ann Mock & Taff
Sunday best pen- Shauan Gourley & Hope
best gather- Rob Miller & Rex
best shed- Don Helsley & Blue
We are extremely happy that Dynamite joined us and hope they will do the same next year!
By the way, the over-all winner Lavon Calzacorta is a top employee for Dynamite.
